The priests and seminarians gathered early in the Chapel of Sts. Peter and Paul on the morning of Ash Wednesday for the Blessing of Ashes and Solemn High Mass. During the distributions of ashes, the tonsured members of the community receive ashes upon the place of tonsure: the top of the head. This symbolizes how they have a special duty to practice mortification during the Holy Season of Lent, and reminds them that this duty is due to the consecration of themselves they made to serve Our Lord on the day of their tonsure.

Please pray for Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary this Lent, that it may be a time of deeper spiritual growth and renewed commitment to Our Lord.
