In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Perpetual Adoration at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, the rector of the Cathedral, Fr. Justin Wylie, graciously invited the priests and seminarians of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary to begin the keeping of the 40 Hours Devotion on the Feast of St. Micheal. It was opened by singing Solemn 2nd Vespers of the feast, followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Many faithful were in attendance. The seminary was very happy to have this opportunity to celebrate Vespers, singing the beautiful chants of the feast in the Cathedral of the Lincoln diocese, which has generously hosted the seminary for over 20 years.

Seminary Outing to Denver: September 20-23, 2019

Seminary Outing to Denver: September 20-23, 2019

In accordance with the yearly tradition, the seminary community traveled to the FSSP apostolate of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Denver, Colorado, for a weekend this September. During this trip, the Seminarians are hosted by the generous parishioners of the parish and enjoy activities such as a hike in the mountains, and the annual parish picnic. It is a good opportunity for the seminarians to take a short break from their studies and to spend time with not only their fellow seminarians but also the parishioners of a Fraternity apostolate. The Seminary schola and polyphonic choir also sang at the parish for a Sung Mass on the Feast of St. Matthew. They joined the parish choir to chant for a Solemn High Mass on the 15th Sunday after Pentecost.

The seminarians and priests are very grateful to the the pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Fr. Jackson, FSSP, and to all of the parishioners for their generosity in hosting the seminary again this year.

Faculty and Staff Dinner: September 14, 2019

Faculty and Staff Dinner: September 14, 2019

Shortly after the beginning of the new semester at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary, the Seminary’s Faculty and Staff join the priests and seminarians for a special dinner. This year the dinner was entirely prepared and served by seminarians, from the appetizers to the dessert. It was a great opportunity for the seminarians to put their culinary skills to the test, in order to show their appreciation for their dedicated staff and faculty.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary is blessed with many outstanding faculty members who make the formation of our seminarians possible. In addition, a small yet hardworking staff keep the entire seminary running, from the business manager to the chefs. Please keep them all in your prayers so that they may continue to be a part of the formation of Fraternity seminarians for years to come.
